WorkOfficially started in 2021, but the thinking behind it took a lot longer. Founder Imamsab Mulla spent more than ten years as a working freelancer before building the platform - long enough to feel every rough edge of the industry firsthand, and long enough to know exactly which ones were worth fixing.
A decade of seeing what was broken
Ten years of freelancing teaches you where the system fails the people inside it. Mr. Mulla had lived through all of it:
- Late and uncertain payment. Delivering great work and then chasing an invoice for weeks, never sure the money would actually arrive.
