Introducing the WorkOfficially Desktop Time Tracker (Mac, Windows & Linux)

Hourly freelancing only works if both sides trust the hours. In 2025 we launched the WorkOfficially desktop time tracker for macOS, Windows and Linux to make that trust automatic: it proves the work happened, shows it to the client in real time, and turns approved hours into payment without anyone chasing an invoice.

What it does

• Automatic proof of work. While a timer runs, it captures randomized screenshots (about 6-9 per hour) and an activity level based on keyboard and mouse use - never the content of what you type.
• A live work diary. Both the freelancer and the client can see the screenshots, activity and hours as they happen, with a per-minute breakdown on each capture.
• Get paid for every hour. Tracked time lands on a weekly time sheet; once the client approves it, the card on file is billed and the freelancer is paid automatically.

Private and transparent by design

Capture only happens while you are tracking, with a visible recording indicator and a strip of your most recent screenshots that you can delete if one caught something personal. No keystroke content, no audio, no webcam - ever. You consent before the first capture.
